African Safari and Beach holiday program

Day One

After having breakfast (late) on the way from your Johannesburg accommodation, you will be able to admire South Africa’s amazing farmlands before arriving at your lodge in the famous Kruger National Park. At sunset enjoy your first game drive on this safari. The area is know for is many Leopards so keep your eyes open for them in the trees.

Day Two

Today is an early start before sunrise! You are going on a full day game drive in South Africa's famous Kruger National Park. You're probably looking forward to seeing many species of wildlife such as lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos (and maybe even some zebras or giraffes?). Keep your fingers crossed for spotting all five members of The Big Five family!

Day Three

After an early wake-up call, I had a long yet scenic drive via Barberton and Piet Retief to Pongola. This town is in Northern KwaZula Natal on the banks of 13000 ha man-made dam that also boasts four of the big five. No lions at the Pongola Game Reserve.

Day Four

At the Pongola Game Reserve, visitors can expect to spend a full day participating in different activities such as Rhino tracking (On foot) and boat cruises I did the walking safari in the early morning and then a lovely afternoon boat cruise.

Day Five

The route heads south via the small town of Hluhluwe and then north to the border town of Kosi Bay. Stopping in this little township, we pick up a few supplies before arriving at our lodge for an optional lake boat cruise. This is a beautiful sunset cruise and relaxing after the travels of the day. The sunset is a great time to take some photos.

Day Six

After a lazy morning that was much needed, spend the day at Kosi Mouth Beach. I took a long beach walk and grounded myself. Others took an optional (three lakes) boat cruise and others did a night turtle walk. The turtle walk is seasonal but those that did it said it was magical to see the turtles.

Day Seven

After a long day on the road, we arrive at St. Lucia and enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants, the choice was overwhelming. It is also nice to note that the travel today was really scenic and the guides were so informative about the fauna and flora of the area.

Day Eight

The following day, enjoy a full-day game drive in Hluhluwe or the sunset cruise along St Lucia’s estuary. I had heard about the amazing large Hippo herds in the estuary and so I opted for the sunset cruise. I was not disappointed and saw so many hippos who also seemed to be curious. This gave us the opportunity to take many photos! Look how cute they look.
